The Flagship Of Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland, Eyes Record Year In Exports With Bold Expansion Plans
Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, is gearing up for a strong performance in international markets this fiscal year, setting ambitious goals for expansion across South East Asia. The company has already made inroads into the Philippines and is eyeing new markets, with plans to enter a total of four countries in the region, including Malaysia. Despite some regulatory adjustments in Malaysia, the launch preparations are well underway, according to Managing Director and CEO Shenu Agarwal.
"Our next target in terms of geographical expansion is South East Asia. We have been talking about it for long. We want to get into four different markets in South East Asia. Philippines we have already started retailing there. In Malaysia, we were very close to launching some vehicles but due to some regulatory changes at a short notice, we are working on them (to launch their products)," he said.
Executive Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja expressed optimism about the Middle Eastern markets despite economic headwinds in Bangladesh. "We expanded our range of products in the Middle Eastern markets, and that is why as a result we believe we should be in a position to record one of the best years when it comes to international operations," he said.
Adding to the company’s optimism, Mr. Prakash Hinduja, Chairman of the Hinduja Group, Europe, noted, "With our robust strategy and commitment to quality, we see immense potential in new markets. Our focus on customer needs and innovative offerings will drive growth as we continue our journey of expansion in the international arena."
Ashok Leyland’s bold plans and positive outlook underline its commitment to growth and excellence in global markets.
